Quick Installation Guide

1. Download the Jet Reports Software from www.jetreports.com.
2. Unzip the installation file.
3. Run the Setup.exe you just unzipped.
4. Copy your Jet License file (*.jlf) into the c:\Program Files\JetReports directory.
5. If your name appears as a designer in the Jet Reports license file, check your user name in Excel to make sure it matches the Jet license file exactly.
6. Activate the Jet Reports Addin:
   1. If you are using Excel 2002 or later, activate the Jet Reports Addin from Start/All Programs/Jet Reports.
   2. If you are using Excel 2000, activate the Jet Reports Addin from the Excel/Tools/Addins menu.
7. If you are using Navision:
   1. Determine the name and type (Navision Native or SQL) of your Navision Server.
   2. Verify that your current Navision license file is present in your client directory and is named fin.flf.
   3. Verify that you have C/Front installed.
8. If you are using Great Plains:
   1. Determine the name of your SQL Server and the name of the database that contains your company data.
   2. Verify that your SQL server login matches your Great Plains login.
   3. If you want to use Jet Reports Friendly Names for the tables and fields, verify that the system administrator has run the “Great Plains Friendly Names.exe” program.
9. If you are using any other database type (i.e. FoxPro, Oracle, etc):
   1. Determine if there is an OLE driver written specifically for your database and install it.
   2. If you are using a MS SQL Server based database, the OLE driver for MS SQL is already installed.
   3. If there are no OLE drivers available, locate and install an ODBC driver for your database.
10. Open Excel, click the Jet/Options/Data Sources menu and configure your Jet Reports Data Source.
11. 11.Check your Jet menu in Excel and confirm that you have a designer or viewer menu as appropriate.
12. Locate and read the Jet Reports User Guides located in your Start/All Programs/Jet Reports menu.
13. Enjoy using Jet Reports!
